How it all started

Experimenting with photography
at a young age

When I was younger I would always take pictures of everything around me. I had a strong urge to capture moments. Photography was a way for me to zoom in and out of my surrounding. For example: I could find great joy in capturing the smallest detail of a flower with the macro function of my parents’ old camera.

My first DSLR camera

A new way to express
my creativity

When I moved to New York in 2015 I felt that this was the time to get more into photography. I really wanted to capture my experience in this beautiful city by taking great shots that could express how I felt about this place. I decided to buy my first DSLR, a Canon 700D, with the kit lens. As a beginner I would view a lot of YouTube tutorials to get the knowledge I needed to become a better photographer.

An extension of my senses

Looking at the world
in a new, different way

It felt like the more I used my camera, the more I was developing my senses. The moment I would pick up my camera it was as if I could see and experience everything around me way more intense. Photography is a tool for me to view the world in a different way. I started seeing things that I normally wouldn’t even notice.

Privileged that my stories are shared by amazing brands

Being able to tell visual stories from around to world is absolutely amazing. Especially when those stories are being shared by travel and photography brands. I’ve been lucky enough that the content I created has been picked up and shared by brands such as Canon Nederland, National Geographic Australia and Lonely Planet Nederland.
